Another ProductiveMuslim Drill - RCA routine

Submitted by a Sister

It is the small deeds when done consistently, that are beloved and inshaAllah have a lasting impression upon our hearts. In the pursuit of attaining and applying knowledge I call this procedure, the RCA routine, Read, Contemplate, Act - or put more aptly 'productivity drill' alhamdulillah,

Reading & Reflection time for the below: Approx 5 minutes

It is related by Umar Ibn al-Khattab (رضى الله تعالى عنه ) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) say:
The actions are but judged according to intentions; and to every man is due what he intended. Thus, whosoever migrates for the sake of Allah (SWT) and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) (and there is no other motive of his migration except compliance with the commands of Allah (SWT) and his Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) and winning of their good pleasure), his migration is accounted for the sake of Allah and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) (and doubtlessly, he is to true Muhajir- Emigrant- and shall receive the recompense prescribed for Hijrat-Migration-towards Allah and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم )); and whosoever migrates for the sake of this world or to wed a woman (his migration will not be for Allah and the Prophet [صلى الله عليه وسلم ]), and will be accounted only for the purpose for which it is intended. (Bukhari and Muslim)

Many a times we have heard this hadith, but how many times have we really given it intense thought in relation to our hearts (the centre of intent) and the manifestation of our actions?

I always imagine if we were to go back to this hadith and sincerely ponder over it would we be like the companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassalaam in our contemplation who would cry from fear of the sincerity in their actions?

Let's reflect on this hadith and take a few lessons and 3 ways in which we can apply it in our lives inshaAllah:

1 -> Remember before you begin a act of worship, be it salah or dhikr, to check the heart's intent, question yourself: is it sincerely for the sake of Allah? and seek refuge in Allah for it to be free from being other than for Him swt, when you begin with a pure and good intent it becomes the light for guiding you through to committing good deeds

2 -> Even if a act is small remind yourself how great it is in the sight of Allah swt when it is completed for His Sake Alone inshaAllah, for a action is made greater by the sincerity behind it and plus manifold in reward too!

3 -> Remind yourself of the consequence of the action you will carry out, if you intended good from it and you set out to fulfil in order to Please Allah swt and in accordance to the Sunnah and Qur'an, then your action will be accepted and rewarded abundantly so don't despair at a small act of kindness even to your parents, neighbours, colleagues, for indeed what you intended from it will be the basis on which it is judged.
