HOW TO USE THE TASK-IN-ATOR
**DOWNLOAD TASK-IN-ATOR™ HERE**
Step 1:
- Print ONE copy of the TASK-IN-ATOR to use per day.
- Best time to fill it is either first thing in the morning or just before you go to sleep (I prefer the later as I sleep with a clear mind knowing what I have to do next day).
Step 2:
- Fill in the dates and the tasks in SECTION 1.
- Notice how the tasks sections is divided into 4 areas (was trying to represent our multi-dimensional lifestyle).
- The Islamic tasks area is already filled up for you, but add more tasks if you can think of some.
- For the other areas, try to list at least 3 tasks for each of them.
- Make sure the tasks are specific and measurable tasks, i.e. instead of saying “Finish office work” say “Finish 3 pages of progress report and e-mail to boss”.
Step 3:
- BLOCK time out for each task you listed in SECTION 1 and plug it into SECTION 2.
- Blocking time out for a task is a powerful technique that helps focus your mind to getting the task done at a certain time. It’s like imposing deadlines upon yourself which sharpens your mind and makes you more efficient in executing the task. (Try it out now, give yourself a 10 minute deadline to complete a task you procrastinated for a while and notice how you’ll quickly focus and get most of it done if not all!).
Step 4:
- Use SECTION 3 for all those random ideas that occur to your mind and you have nowhere to write them down (or for those long phone conversation doodles ;)).
Step 5:
- Strike out every task you complete at end of the day & carry the ones you didn’t complete to a new sheet!
Step 6:
- Repeat Steps 1-5 for a new day :).
As simple as it sounds, it works! Don’t take my word for it, but try it out! I guarantee you if you use this task-in-ator and stick to it, you’ll see yourself really moving forward in projects and tasks at an unprecendented tasks.
Download it here, and let me know your comments and thoughts inshaAllah. If proven a success, I'll develop it into a full fledged diary inshaAllah ;).
